Assets I placed to the side of the map so players don't run in too many empty, boring fields around the map.

One of the many side routes on the map. I wanted to break up the map and give them something else to explore that wasn't only filled with buildings and rocks.

When designing the map, I didn't want the player to get bored quickly, so I made several different types of environments with varying types of assets. The snowy mountain in the background causes the player feel like they're in another area than the rest of the map, and the vast boulders offer something to look at from a distance as well as give the player a different perspective of the map if they make it on top of the boulders.
